I see you point Pav. Paying a salary may very well keep managers honest. What I mean by that is....
If you are paying a fighter a salary you will want him to fight as often as possible. You still have the option to not fight or rest to avoid a bad matchup, but you will still have to pay. If you are giving your boxer a percentage of each fight you are more likely to duck fights with no penalty. This is a problem that has haunted similar games.

www.box2glory.com/2035/January/235978.htm - 2.9mil and 1.9 mil Antwerp The Revolucion is the first human gym to feel the money rain. Takes a loss and an injury easier to deal with for sure. The Cuban was actually winning the fight by wide margin, but I suspect Jeffrey Rittenbach would have KOed him in a later rounds anyways.

My I suggest that "% of winnings" only be an option if the Boxer has been with that gym for 2+ years.
It seems to me the reason some gyms get into financial trouble is because they overpay to keep their own boxers. It is natural to want to hold onto a guy that you have built up and trained, but it doesn't always make financial sense. % of winnings would promote having good boxers stay with the gyms that got them there.
At the same time, the salary structure is still good for up and coming gyms.

You can actually be fine paying about $400k/week to the world champs even with few occasional injuries if they make about 3-3.5mil per fight. Check-out today's record breaking fight purse of over $6 Million ! Ludovit Jesensky is guaranteed $3,644,595 for this fight, Vincent Bergqvist is guaranteed $2,429,730 www.box2glory.com/2035/February/237608.htm

That is because its undercard. Usually #3 and #4 would be a main event, but here they are undercard because World Champ is in a same gym as #3 (Rockplace). You are right, that in addition to your fighter getting injured or vacation tired there is also a chance that your fighter is going to be on the undercard if he is not a champ. But if you keep your best boxers you want to get them to be a world champions and with new cost structure it is possible for you to keep them there without going broke. On a way there you still can get in financial hole if not careful.

With younger fighters it can take quite a well before they are able to compete at the best level but they will demand big bucks as soon as they get to the top end of the continental level. The changes help for sure, particularly at WT level but it still doesn't mean gyms can keep onto fighters that they have developed and take them all the way to the top without taking quite a risk...

hopefully, during this time you can have some money making boxers in there to keep your balances in check. We do not want to make it too simple. Of course if you are a new gym with only 5 boxers max you will have very hard time meeting your best boxer's demands, but that is life. Sometimes if might be good for his contract to expire, see him lose a few fights without you and then come back with an offer...that just might get him back under your roof for next 2 years at much more reasonable rate. Of course there is a chance that some big boy gym is going to get him...but that is life

in case you have not noticed I did recently lowered boxer's values to make it cheaper to re-sign high ranking boxers. www.box2glory.com/wnews.htmThey tend to drift up over time. Usually I look at my 7 champs and if I see an average over 10,000 point score I do this adjustment for the game.
