From what I've seen while simming or in an actual fight, KP is useless as the endurance fighter virtually kills it every time. Ok KP sissies look like they can work as evidenced in the last tournament, but other than that it is just not effective enough. Thoughts please..

I will let actual players comment on this. Explosivness is certainly is valued less than the non-discounted attributes per each point. It does not decrease with fatigue during a fight. It will not allow the endurance fighter to get too aggressive. We had many discussion about game balance many months ago and tried many different things. I think we got to a pretty good place.

Not useless but not a main stat either. What Pav said, it used to be way worse, now it's strong enough to secure a win against a fighter with low chin or punish fighters who open up too much.

Thanks for the comments guys. Though it does seem apparent to be successful (especially in tournaments) you need to be using a straight endurance fighter. A bit sad as I enjoy the depth that explosivness gives to the game.

Have tried it in tourneys a time or 2 would probably need to be 3 points of KP for a point spent to make it my go to approach though to be honest ( at current effectiveness ).

are you saying it is not possible to win tourney with anyother than endurance fighter? If so, we need to think about some adjusting again.

Am sure is is possible to do it but simply easier go with an endurance guy , throw in enough speed to keep the pressure up & a reasonable chin ( especially if you have decent footwork ) & you can mostly shut out the majority of KP guys . Having said all that , am sure a managerial genius can do well with KP but you dont need to be nearly as good to simply wear opponents out & then knock them over .

Do you mean that I don't have an endurance fighter? My take on this is that KP might be viable if you have enough AP's to play with. If you could max out strength and still have respectable speed, agility and endurance then I would imagine that KP could work but otherwise it is probably going to be tricky to win a tournie. I have not done much work on this sim to be honest, I am making my fighters and playing on instinct (from playing WeBL) but it seems to me that if anything is undercooked among the stats it is speed. Counter does not seem like a viable style to me against a well set up ropist or slugger which suggests to me that either speed needs tweaking up or the benefits of using the counter style need to be enhanced a little...

Certainly wont argue on the speed issue , fine for mopping up less experienced gyms on auto pilot , but over & above that not so good .

Expl is a bit weak still, but you can deal with it. Should be a lil stronger I guess. As I remember now it's 1 str = 4 Expl, so you have to spend 2 points to get either 3 str points or 6 KP points. For WeBL ratio is 1-3, here it's 1-2. If my math is correct.
To improve speed based styles is an interesting idea also. It's not so hard, you may make 34% or 35% in counter style instead of present 33%. Or to delete fatigue penalty for using feint style.
It's all for tournies. Not sure if anything should be changed for the main game. There Expl is an additional stat for fighters.
