Sorry, will post in appropriate thread once my forum account is activated.
I started this game back in 2012 and returned to it last week. I really like the idea for the game and was thinking to get some brainstorming done. Most of the ideas that follow may seem stupid but I hope there are at least 2-3 good ideas that could help the game develop and attract more fans:
- GPRO
I used to play this great game a few months ago but quit it since my team mates seemed to take it too seriously and I just wanted to play it casually. The game is great (over 20,000 users online at any time) and I see many similarities with B2G. I think there are many things that B2G can take from GPRO, such as the search engine. I want to be able to search for boxers about to make their debut, I want to be able to filter them by such things as height, value, weight, KO percentage etc. I would be nice if I could see an estimated initial salary they would demand instead of making a bid every time and waiting a day.
- Venue
One of my boxers just became champion of Ukraine and I got 800 for the fight since there were only 200 spectators. One of his previous title fights he got more than 200,000 because he fought on a different venue. It's absurd! On another fight, my 35th place ranked UK fighter got an undercard fight and bagged 5,000! It basically goes down to luck whether I can make a nice return on a fight. I would like to be able to have at least some control when or where my boxers fight when I'm negotiating a match. Estimated attendance would also be a nice addition.
- FM
The game is inspired by FM and I really miss some features from it. For example, I wanted to offer contracts to two trainers to see if they would work for my gym (since there is no "realistic" checkbox at trainer search as with boxer search) and see how much they wanted. Ok, both want 2,900, both are the same level. IS the salary linked only with their level? OK, I wanted to see how much I could lower their salary demands, it was around 2,000 for both (why can't I offer lower? In fm i can offer Ronaldo 5$) and yeah... they both accepted my offers. In FM in this fishing situation when I test the waters If I could bring in someone, I can cancel the deal after they accept, but with B2G they immediately signed contracts with me. I can't afford their salaries so in 1-2 days i'm going bankrupt. Why can't I declare bankruptcy voluntarily? You know, like a reset button.
- Not much to do
Besides including additional content, another option could be to make turns to be less than 24 hours, for example 12 hours, 16 hours etc.
- Features
Compared to 2012, not that much has changed with the game. It's mainly more and more countries. I'm sure some fans with spare time and programming skills would be glad to help you develop the game, if not you could always search for financing.
- Financing
I really think it's a very original and complex game. It would definitely attract attention in a campaign on Kickstarter. If marketed properly, it could catch a lot of interest and funding which can really help kick this baby into overdrive.
- Marketing
I think the best way for this game be noticed is to be featured on some boxing sites or forums. The thing with boxing fans is that most of them are hardcore fans and would love to play this game. Some mentioning on popular forums would hurt either.
That it for now, I could add more things later. I really really like this game and hope that at least something that I wrote helps it become even better. Best regards.
