speed. speed affects speed, footwork and defense training. BTW you don't want to train the defense skill as its impact on defense is significantly lower than the impact of footwork.

So training footwork would be more beneficial?
Cheers.

So training footwork would be more beneficial? Cheers. Definitely. High footwork helps the fighter to avoid being hit, plus both {ring} and {ropes} styles directly benefit from footwork advantage. Defense on the other hand only reduces the number of clean punches your opponent lands so it's easier for you boxer to win rounds but your boxer still gets damage from those punches and no style benefits from the advantage in defense. Same goes with speed, it passively helps to increase the number of clean punches your boxer lands and on top of that you can use {counter} or {feint} to further benefit from any speed advantage your boxer might have. You can load your boxer into fightsim to both sides and then increase footwork on one side and defense on the other side and see what difference it makes in the fight. Out of those three the footwork is the most important skill because when a stronger opponent uses {clinch} it reduces your fighter's footwork so having it high helps a lot even in this case.
