I am thinking of introducing relationships into a game. Like boxers can be brothers. Or coach can be father and boxer son.
Other NPCs would have relationships and some would work well with some personality types but not others which would have effect on their moral as well as moral of others in that gym. That would depend on NPC personality type (which I already have) and their flare to flaunt that personality. IT will also provide more hint for personality of your opposition for when you make media statements.
So boxers could become friends with one another or enemies. They can become friends with human managers too if those took them to a title and treated them good. It would give them a moral boost weekly to be with friends.

interesting idea. I could see where a boxer/trainer relationship could boost boxer morale, workrate or ambition. Of course, staff could have morale also (depending on pay/contract length etc) which in turn could effect boxer morale as well. Sort of a gym "chemisty" level. Boxers in the same gym with different personality types is also an interesting concept. Different personality types of boxers could effect the chemistry level as well.

The only issue here is that it could make things even more difficult for starter gyms, who already have limited choice of boxers and staff.
So it should definitely scale in terms of ambition rating, or fighter success. That would also reflect how as fighers get more successful their ego can get more demanding, so even when you have the money to sign anyone, you still have to pick and choose carefully.

Great point sendorange....perhaps scale this up according to the gym level. As the gym level increases, the chemistry or relationship factor would increase as well.
In fact, I would say this should not become a factor until a gym is at level 2. The game has a steep learning curve with just the figh planning etc. so it could become very frustrating for a new gym to finally be able to get that second boxer only to have the whole gym go to hell because they picked the wrong type of boxer.

I am listening. I don't like atrificial limiting based on gym level. I like sendorange idea and will make it depend on the boxer's success. The more sucessful they are they more their "true colors" will shine. Level 1 gyms would not be able to sign sucessful boxers anyways.
