Box 2 Glory FAQ
Read manual at www.box2glory.com/b2gmanual.pdf also
Please ask questions in this board - eventually there will be an FAQ.
I will monitor often and answer your questions.
Questions so far.
1. I can not sign anybody. They all ignore me. What do i do?
Read this.
box2glory.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=gameabout&action=display&thread=11
When you just start aim for boxers that are on the border of top 10 in lowest division (national level).
2. How do i make fight plans and assign them to boxers?
You can make fightplans at any time by going to Fights->Fight Plan menu.
You assign fightplan to a fight, not to a boxer. So first you need to get a fight - you can either negotiate one yourself or wait until it is assigned to you.
box2glory.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=gameabout&action=display&thread=14
Once your boxer has a fight scheduled you can go into Fights->Fights Schedule menu and assign items, including fightplans to a particular fight.
3. I have problems with making fightplans. Can you help me understand how those work?
Ok. first read this carefully.
www.box2glory.com/help.htm#fptutorial
In overview, remember that their are two types of lines in the fightplan. Global and round-specific. The ones that start with
0:
are global.
When the game reads the fightplan it reads global lines fight in their order from top to bottom. As soon as it finds a match - that will be the line executed.
Lines with number greater then 0. (1-12) are round specific. These lines are read next. But here the last line that matches in the line that is executed. So in this example.
0:if score>=2 and stamina<60 then 0-?/10/20/70{clinch}
0:if roundslost>7 then 0/25-H/50/25{inside}
1:0-?/40/30/30{clinch}
4:0-?/40/20/40{clinch}
4:if score>1 then 0-?/10/10/80{clinch}
If at any point in a fight you are up by at least two points in scoring and your stamina is less than 60 your boxer will start clinching (clinch is a power based strategy so you probably want to up the power to at least 20)
Otherwise, if that first global line is not matched the next global line will be read and if your boxer lost more then 7 rounds you will go on a head hunting rampage.
If none of the global lines are met the next line will be read which means that you will start round with
1:0-?/40/30/30{clinch}
Same will happen in rounds 2, 3.
This in round 4 this line will match
4:0-?/40/20/40{clinch}
So you will start all rounds 4 and after (unless global line matched) with
4:0-?/40/20/40{clinch}
unless next line
4:if score>1 then 0-?/10/10/80{clinch}
is true. (remember the last line that matches if the one that is used for non-global lines.
At the bottom of the fight page there is a Fight Strategies link. Cliking on it shows you which line of your fight plan was executed during which round. It is color coded to show you if you won(green), tied (white) or lost (red) that round.
4. How do I make an effective fight plan?
Read this first.
box2glory.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=gameabout&action=display&thread=24
In essence you have two options.
points or power and depending on your advantages you choose the most appropriate one.
These are point-centric or defensive styles (outside, circle and stack -ring, feint).
These are power styles that you use to sap energy from the body or go for KO (clinch, inside, counter, rope, go for KO). When going for these power styles you want to put at least 20% in power.
5. When B2G schedules the fight itself how does it do it?
It is not that hard to figure out who you will get to fight, but may not be 100% accurate, especially as you going further down the rankings. You will only know for sure one turn prior to the fight.
The fights are assigned from top to bottom based on rank. So #1 vs #2, #3 vs #4. If you click on your rank number of your boxer you will go to the page similar to this which shows all boxers in your division sorted by rank.
www.box2glory.com/npc/UK_HVY_boxerindex.htm
So #1 will be fighting #2 ,etc etc. But
If you see boxer is injured (Recovering from injury) you are safe to skip him because he is not fighting next turn for sure.
Also, of course if the boxer already has a fight assigned (only boxers that are run by humans can have fight assigned earlier than a turn before a fight) then you would skip them as well.
The only uncertainty comes from tired boxers.
From least tired to most tired - Tired -> Jaded -> Exhausted
Tired, jaded or exhausted boxers may choose to skip a turn and rest. Tired ones are very likely to still fight, while Exhausted do sometimes choose to rest instead.
6. I selected to negotiate with some boxers or staff, I don't se anything happen. What's next?
The game is played in turns. The AI thinks when the script runs at the end of the turn. The scripts runs at about noon GMT daily. (about 7AM Eastern US). So after the script is run you should have something under HOME -> Negotiations .
Thus, if you reached out to some boxer last turn you should see something now, if you just did it just you have to wait till next turn.
7. I am thinking of moving my fighter to another division.What are the weight limits for weight divisions?
The penalties for moving your fighter should be immediatly shown to you on a screen.
But here are the weight limits if you are interested.
Bantam =< 51kg (112lb)
Light =< 58kg (128lb)
Welter =< 66kg (146lb)
Middle =< 76kg (168lb)
Cruiser =< 87kg (192lb)
Heavy =< 100kg (220lb)
Super > 100kg
8. What is the range of the attributes?
Boxer attributes and excitement range from 1 to 20.
