I am new to this game and I will soon be fighting a man named "Nicholas Fry" which is I believe 2 rankings above me, though I notice for every recent fight; he has used the "ropes", any one know a good tactic to counter? My fighter has little explosiveness[2] with his highest strengths being at speed and defence[both at 9]

Could someone move this to the fight plan discussion place, looks like I clicked the wrong place.

www.box2glory.com/2030/August/507_972.htmNot sure if you have the time to scout that guy. If you think you have speed advantage over him use the speed advantage fight plan. It is one of 6 default fight plans that you are given. If you were much taller than him you could also have used height advantage, but you are not much taller.

How do you make your own plan? I think I might just go make a counter cutting plan

Jettz,
Sorry if this is late, but I have been having problems with my laptop.
Here is a complex FP that you can use if you wish. But you really should learn how it works first to see if it meets your needs. Copy and paste it and spar with it. see what it does according to the score and round. You had said your fighter has low explosion....so you may not want to use 0/20-H/40/40{counter} and instead raise your aggression and use either outside or feint style to boost any speed advantage you have. if you have any other questions....either post or send me a pm.

Sorry you loss. It appears your boxer is light on stamina and got very tired fast. If you look you can see that you easily won first rounds but then got tired. Perhaps you can lower aggression and still win rounds. High aggression makes you more tired.

I know how to make a fight plan b ut how do I have my fighter use it? Yeah, as I said before, Stamina is my weakest point but my guy was apparently on default already so I got no idea what happened. I landed 0 Poweer Punches and Fry is proving more expensive than he's worth.

no, problem. If you want I can enter your gym in administration. It just mean you start over with $5,000 and no boxers, staff.
Once you make a fightplan, you can set it as a default for your boxer in the Stable screen. Your boxer will always use that fightplan then - unless you specify a specific plan for a fight. You do this in Fights -> Fight Schedules once the fight is confirmed.

You can also select your fighters default plan from the stable section.
Select Stable, then click on the boxers name. scroll down and you should see a drop down box labeled "Default fight plan" select the fight plan you want to set as the default and your boxer will use that fight plan unless changed in the manner as Pav has explained.
As for Fry being too expensive. You may want to try and scout & sign a local boxer.
First, Sign a cheap scout
Hire>scouts>filter>quality=ok>Language=english>contract=free>search
try to negotiate with a few 1 star scouts. They will respond with their demands. Go ahead and try to give one of them the lowest possible salary. You will eventually find one that you can hire for cheap. I had a scout that was working for $54/week.
Next, scout and sign a local boxer. Chances are they will not be very good, but you will be able to hire better boxers later down the road.
Select: Manage>scout & sign>check "local">search>results
The boxers in the results may not be that great, but they will be much cheaper. This is the work with what you got type of situation, but if you manage them well, you can probably win a title and then be able to hire more boxers of better quality.
Hope this helps.

UGI that FP looks strangely familiar, I think that if you divided all your numbers by 5 it might be one of the earliest FP's that I made public in another game that I used to play... I seem to be having a few glitches with test FP's here so the teacher may become the student...

oh oh. Another WeBL veteran here. And this one sounds like trouble, with many WeBL scalps. Yes, I did use WeBL as a foundation for fight engine. As long as you can handle finances and keeping your boxers happy you should do fine. Punchy, there are some twists to the fighplans with touting and boxer personalities so you still should read that section of the manual. Let me know what your problems are with fightplan that you are trying.

Punchy, If you are the legendary WeBL's Trafford, then yes that FP would look very familar. As a webl manager (Straightjacket/UGI) I didn't write FP's like the one above. But, the commands used in box2glory favor a "trafford" like FP...IMHO...being able to adjust round to round and micromanage your boxer. Im sure once you iron out the wrinkles of those FP's you will be back to teaching us all a lesson

Not Trafford UGI but you definitely know who I am...I won a lot more titles than Traff but was more your era than his...

Hi Pavlik, none of my conditionals that begin
if stamina >
or
if stamina <
seem to be kicking in. I have been playing around in the simulator and my opening line seems to just operate for most of the fight and only in later rounds do some of my other conditional lines seem to kick in. My basic FP set up looks like this in the first few rounds:
1: 0/xx-B/xx/xx {clinch}
2: if Stamina >= 97 then 0/xx-B/xx/xx {clinch} 2: if Stamina >= 96 then 0/xx-B/xx/xx {clinch} 2: if Stamina >= 95 then 0/xx-B/xx/xx {clinch} 2: if Stamina < 95 then 0/xx-B/xx/xx {clinch} 2: if Stamina < 94 then 0/xx-B/xx/xx {clinch}
Is there any reason why my round 2 lines should not be triggered?
